The January Challenge Schools Competition – Celebrate your community, and win creative goodies for your school!

The January Challenge from 64 Million Artists is all about everyday creativity and celebrating the power of imagination. It’s a national initiative that encourages people to take part in quick, accessible and daily creative activities together. This year, we’re inviting schools across the UK to join in and become part of something BIG!

Why Participate?
By taking part in The January Challenge, you’ll be helping staff and students to kickstart their 2025. It’s not just about creating art - it’s about fostering a culture of creativity in your school, building community connections, and inspiring your school community to think outside the box. Creativity belongs to everyone, and The January Challenge is ready and waiting for you.

The January Challenge: Schools Competition

To make it even more exciting, we’re launching a Schools Competition - a chance for your school to showcase how you’re using your creativity during The January Challenge. We’re looking for schools who are embracing the spirit of The January Challenge. You could be in with a chance of winning by:

  • Collaborating across classes and year groups,
  • Engaging with your local community using the creative prompts,
  • Sharing the fun of creativity with students, teachers, and families alike!

The competition is open to all schools participating in The January Challenge. It’s not about being the best artist! We’re looking for enthusiasm, creativity, and a spirit of community. Whether you’re doing creative work individually or in groups, inside or outside the classroom (and staffroom!) - we want to celebrate your efforts.

How to Enter:

    1. Sign up your school for The January Challenge (if you haven’t already). You can do this by downloading a FREE Creativity Champions Pack for Schools.
    2. Engage your school community in the 31 prompts throughout January. Use them to inspire lessons, 1-1 time, form time, projects, clubs, assemblies, team meetings…
    3. Share your creativity:
    • Post photos, videos, or stories showcasing how your school is engaging with the Challenge. You can highlight classroom activities, group work, community involvement, or any other creative moments you enjoy!
    • Tag us on social media (find us on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn) or email us your submissions at [email protected]. Use the hashtag #TheJanuaryChallenge to share your creativity with us.

What You Could Win: We will choose 5 schools to receive exciting prizes…

  • 1 Free Creative Workshop tailored to your school, with materials provided, so your staff students can continue to explore and develop their creativity.
  • A Hamper of Creative Goodies - including books, games and materials to keep the creativity flowing.
  • Special Recognition for standout students or teachers who demonstrate exceptional creativity, collaboration, or enthusiasm during the challenge.

Why it Matters: This isn’t just a competition. It’s part of a nationwide movement to celebrate the creativity at the heart of every school, and every community. By taking part, you’ll join hundreds of schools across the UK who are helping to shape the future of creativity in education. Together, we can make 2025 a year where creativity is celebrated, nurtured, and shared by students, teachers, and communities alike!
