Creativity is… Word Play.
We’re so excited to be content partners with Cultura Inglesa for their 27th annual festival!
Cultura Inglesa is a not for profit institution whose mission is to promote the teaching of English and British culture in Brazil.
Their annual Cultura Inglesa Festival (CIF), a renowned cultural, educational and artistic event, celebrating it’s 27th year in 2024. It is the largest festival in Latin America focusing on British culture and the English language. The event will take place from September 26th to October 13th, both in person and online.
64 Million Artists have created an activity pack for participants of the festival to use – in classrooms with students and among the teaching staff and at home and beyond. The pack – which will be available to download from 26th September – includes three creative prompts to support imagination and connection in a learning environment, alongside top tips on facilitating creative activity. Here’s the second creative prompt – enjoy!
Do
Choose a word.
Create a music beat inspired by the word. Using objects you have around you, you could try and replicate how the word sounds.
Or, create a dance inspired by the word. You could use different parts of your body to spell the word out? Or explore the words’ meaning through different movements?
If you are working in a group you could take turns to share your music beat or dance with each other and see if they can guess what the word is!

How does moving or making a beat to the word make you feel?
Share
Share your word play with a friend, invite them to move to the same word and explore what the similarities or differences are in their response.
