Please can you introduce yourself

I'm a Ghanaian born British multidisciplinary artist, librarian, coach and group facilitator. I live and work in Hull, and around the country. I have an academic background in Architecture and over 20 years experience facilitating workshops as a creative practitioner. My work includes African drumming, drum circles, musical instrument making, photography, design and other making practices. My group facilitation includes Action Learning, Participatory Appraisal, Open Space and Town Anywhere. I love bringing people together to connect, collaborate and share our creativity and what we have in common.

Where does creativity show up for you and how do you use it?

Creativity initially shows up in my imagination, with ideas when thinking, and sometimes even before I awake; in dreams! I use creativity as a process to finding solutions, whether it's working out a strategy for a project, or designing/creating/making things.

Has your creativity ever led you to any unexpected places or connections?

Yes, quite often! I've created experiences and opportunities like travelling to Ghana on a number of creative projects, which I have created by imagining/visioning and then designing project strategies. After submission, these designed project strategies have then become real projects, real experiences and real adventures.

What drew you to take part in The January Challenge?
A whole month of being in the flow of creativity is very attractive! The opportunity to share my skills and knowledge and to help bring people together to connect and share something of themselves with each other, with creativity, also drew me to take part in The January Challenge.
