London

Please can you introduce yourself to the 64 Million Artists community!

My name is Kristy (aka Mallow). I love nature, food, drawing and anything DIY - origami, weaving, crochet and printmaking. I enjoy working with young people and running creative workshops, and that's what I do at work for The Agency of Change. The Agency is a programme that helps young people to tap into their desire and inspire them to develop changemaking projects in their local community. I love to connect with people from different backgrounds and exchange ideas. I think creative workshops are a great at building connections and spark fresh thinking.

Creativity Is…

seeing alternatively.

How has your creativity inspired change in yourself or with those around you?

Creativity allows us to see an array of possibilities in things. When I was studying Art History at university, I was fascinated by how different people have different interpretation to the same artwork. In one of the workshops I facilitated, children were asked to draw a butterfly. One participant's drawing inspired me - she drew an oval shape attached to a stick to show the butterfly is still in the form of a cocoon. I think creativity is a superpower to imagine the world in a different way outside of usual thinking, challenge our perceptions, and eventually change the world!
