Luminate
Edinburgh, Scotland
Please can you introduce yourself to the 64 Million Artists community!
Luminate works across Scotland to ensure that older people’s creativity can flourish whatever their circumstances, experience, interests and ambitions.
Luminate works with people and organisations to explore new ways of working that help more older people participate in the arts and be creative. We provide a range of professional development opportunities for those who work creatively with older people, as well as for older artists themselves.
Luminate is committed to ensuring that the rich and diverse creativity of older people is visible, and that the cultural life of Scotland is shaped by their voices. And we bring people together to share their knowledge and experience of creative ageing, and we advocate for the arts and creativity to be valued in our lives as we age.
Creativity Is…
a human right
How has your creativity inspired change in yourself or with those around you?
Working with such a diverse range of older adults across the different parts of Scotland, we are regularly reminded that we can all be creative and express the things that are important to us through so many wonderful art forms and at any age. Seeing creativity flourish and how it can bring people together and connect them, in our case in later life, reminds us of its place in every day life and that we have to keep advocating for its importance.
