As the beating hearts of our communities and often the only free-to-access space where diverse groups gather to share ideas and inspire one another, the link between libraries and creativity is stronger than ever today. From what we call our creative contributions - poetry, prose, photography, painting and even performance art that all enhances our advocacy campaigns on behalf of the libraries sector - to the support that Scotland’s libraries enjoy from acclaimed, award-winning creatives like Damian Barr, Kerry Hudson, Peter May and Theresa Breslin, the team at CILIP Scotland know library-led creativity truly can change lives.
